We recommend a 100 kOhm linear cermet potentiometer, made by Vishay Sfernice in France and law faked with a 15kOhm 1W 1% resistor.
The pot to buy is catalogued as 1688291, but be warned that this is not a dual gang pot, and two are required for a stereo system.

Aspen sells the ALPS 27mm STRK27 20K potentiometer for quality audiophile applications, but these are an excellent quality, relatively inexpensive solution. Sadly the dual gang, log profile Sfernice cermet pot, arguably the best potentiometer for audio, does not appear to be available any longer.

stock number XM70M is a 19in 3RU case very reasonably priced at £42.99 each incl. VAT (current at 03/01) suitable for an AKSA stereo pair.
"A range of high quality rack mounting cases, fabricated mild steel and finished in a hard wearing semi-matt black epoxy coating. The base plate is punched with a matrix of holes for securing PCBs, transformers etc, and the top cover is provided with ventilation slots to assist cooling. The black anodised aluminium front panel has two handles and there are four holes punched to facilitate fixing the case in a rack.  The cases are supplied flat packed and are easy to assemble."
More experienced constructors, used to close utilisation of case space, might choose the XM68Y 19in 2RU case (£35.99 each incl. VAT).
